In a vibrant display of innovation and agricultural excellence, Egerton University, led by Director of Research Prof. Nancy Mungai, made a grand appearance at the 2024 Nakuru National Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show. Building on their impressive performance from last year, where they scooped six trophies, the university is poised to surpass their previous achievements with a suite of groundbreaking innovations and commercialized products.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, recognizes the significance of the Nakuru National ASK Show and has been actively involved in the university's presence there. His office, staffed by dedicated personnel at the showground, served as a central hub for visitors, including the judges who signed the visitors' book. Prof. Kibwage used this office at the show's main stand to meet guests and engage with high-end visitors, further strengthening the university's connections and outreach.
“We are dedicated to creating products that not only meet the highest standards of quality but also contribute to the well-being of our community,” said Prof. Mungai when she went round the exhibitions ahead of judgment on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, a team of judges visited Egerton University's main stand to evaluate the diverse array of exhibits meticulously prepared by the university's show committee under the guidance of Dr. Musa Njue. The judges, arriving in various teams, were treated to an impressive showcase of advancements that align closely with this year's show theme, highlighting the university's commitment to research and development in agriculture and technology.
"We are extremely proud of the innovations we are presenting this year," said Dr. Musa Njue, head of the university's show committee. "Our team has worked tirelessly to develop products that not only advance agricultural practices but also address real-world challenges.”
Innovation and Commercialization at the Forefront
