Egerton University Improves in Webometric World University Rankings
Egerton University has improved in the latest Webometric World University Rankings. Surpassing its previous position, the University ranked at 4th in Kenya, 71st in Africa, and 2,374th globally. This progress showcases a noteworthy improvement from the July 2023 rankings, where Egerton University stood at 4th in Kenya, 85th in Africa, and 2,606th worldwide.
The announcement coincided with a pivotal website representatives meeting convened by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage on February 1, 2024, at the Main Campus. The VC Prof. Kibwage urged all University units to redouble their efforts to enhance Egerton's standing.

In attendance was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics, Research, & Extension) Prof. Bernard Aduda who highlighted the tangible benefits that come with a notable position in university rankings, including enhanced global recognition, increased opportunities for collaboration and research partnerships, and a heightened appeal to prospective students and faculty.
