Egerton University has once again demonstrated its research prowess by securing the most awards at the National Outstanding Research Awards (NORA) during the Kenya National Research Festival, held from 19th to 23rd August 2024 at the Edge Convention in Nairobi. The NORA awards, presented on 23rd August, celebrate the exceptional achievements of Kenyan researchers whose work is at the forefront of innovation and economic transformation.
Among the awardees were five distinguished researchers from Egerton University. Prof. Josphat Matasyo received the NORA Award in the Physical Sciences, Technology, and Innovation category. In the Women's Reseachers Category, Prof. Nancy W. Mungai was honored for her contributions to Biological Sciences, Technology, and Innovation and Prof. Patience Mshenga was recognized in the Social Sciences category. In the Young Scientist category, Dr. Oscar Donde was acknowledged for his innovative research in Biological Sciences, Technology, and Innovation, while Dr. John Olwande received the award in Social Sciences, Technology, and Innovation.
These awards highlight the university’s commitment to advancing research and fostering a culture of innovation.
