Egerton University Joins RUFORUM Triennial Conference in Namibia
Egerton University is proud to announce its prominent role in the official opening of the 2nd RUFORUM Triennial Conference, which began today, 12th August 2024, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, Egerton University joins a network of 170 universities from 40 African countries in this significant event organized by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM).

Prof. Kibwage is leading the university's participation in this significant event organized by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM).
The conference kicked off with a series of dynamic pre-conference activities, where the University has been actively involved. These activities include workshops focused on safeguarding young people, sharing best practices for creating inclusive and safe African universities, entrepreneurship competency training, Scientific Data Management, Climate Finance Transparency Accounting, Leadership Curriculum Development among others.
From now until the conference concludes on Friday 16th August, Egerton University will showcase its contributions and advancements in agricultural education and research. This year’s theme, “Operationalising Higher Agricultural Education and Research Ecosystem for Innovation, Industrialisation and Economic Development in Africa: A Call for Action,” underscores the importance of collaborative effort s in driving agricultural innovation and economic growth across the continent.
