
Students career development
The Faculty of Science together with the Directorate of International Linkages & Career Services (IL&CS) organized a students’ career development seminar at Main Campus in Njoro. The one – day seminar titled “Future Ready Career” took place on 25 May 2022 at the Physical Science Complex and was facilitated by Mr Lameck Mito a Business Development Officer from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – Kenya.

In his opening remarks, the Director IL & CS Prof. Charles M’Erimba said that his Directorate was open to offering career services to all students. He advised students to embrace a dynamic, collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach in their pursuit of education and career endeavours.
Mr Mito trained the students from various Faculties at the University on the importance of learning the concepts accounting as the current industry dynamics and future career prospects demand for students to be flexible and open-minded. He underpinned the importance of students from all backgrounds to learn about the accounting processes, financial reporting and keeping track of income and expenses.

The Dean, Faculty of Science Dr Moses Gichuki said that the career development seminar is part of Egerton University’s collaboration with ACCA that started in 2021 when students first registered for the ACCA inter University Strategic Business Leader challenge.
