STATUTORY CHARGES PAYABLE TO KENYA UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES CENTRAL PLACEMENT SERVICE (KUCCPS) AND COMMISSION FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION (CUE)

The Commission for University Education (CUE) levies Kshs.1,000/= on all students enrolled in the University Pursuant to Gazette Notice no 6853 dated 26^th August 2016, being Quality Assurance fees. This fee is payable “once at admission in a university program (Bachelors, Masters, PhD, Postgraduate Diploma)”.

Similarly, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) charges Kshs.1,500/=, being placement fees payable once on admission, for all  government sponsored students placed in the university.

The University is under legal duty to pass the above charges to Students, collect the amounts stated and remit the same to the two Statutory bodies (CUE & KUCCPS).

The University, with effect from 2018 onwards billed these charges to admitted students as applicable.  However, those admitted in the earlier years had not been billed for these charges. Hence these fees have been passed on to all students who had not been billed for the same accordingly.

Kindly note the following:

1. Students admitted in 2016 and 2017 Academic years will be billed for these charges.
2. Students admitted as from 2018, who have been billed more than once will have the excess amount credited to their fee accounts.
3. All the affected graduands of the 43^rd graduation ceremony are encouraged to pay the said amount before graduation. However, those unable to pay before graduation date MUST do so before collection of certificate.
4. Any graduand who was billed excess amount and have already paid is advised to seek for a refund.
