Following the agreement between UASU National Office, UASU Egerton University Chapter and Egerton University on 4th March 2022 , the strike has been called off with immediate effect.

This is to remind all students that the University re-opened as from 12th February 2022 and teaching and learning activities are ongoing. Students are asked to note that the examination dates (CATs and End of Semester) which have already been scheduled will NOT change.

Egerton University Senate at its 537th meeting held on 11th February 2022 resolved that the University be re-opened with immediate effect.  By this Notice, all students are informed that dates for reporting and learning activities are as follows:

Egerton University is going through the most difficult chapter in its existence. The current strike is negatively affecting this institution. In addition, speculations in digital media are fueling these uncertain times.

Egerton University envisions to be a World Class University for the advancement of humanity. In line with this, the Division of Academic Affairs has organized a virtual Open forum with the 44th Graduation graduates which will be held on Tuesday, 21st December 2021 starting at 10.00 am. This is an initial forum organized by the University to receive feedback from graduates about their experiences at Egerton University. The feedback will inform strategies towards continuous improvement in service delivery to our clients.

Egerton University wishes to inform the public that it will hold its 44th Graduation Ceremony on Friday 17 December 2021. The event will take place at the Graduation Square, Main Campus, Njoro, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.The virtual activities will be streamed live as follows:

The following 2358 graduands have been cleared by the University Senate to graduate in the 44th Graduation Ceremony to be held on Friday 17th December 2021 subject to payment of full fees and mandatory graduation fee.  Any graduand who has not cleared fees is encouraged to clear with Finance office by close of business on Tuesday 7th December 2021 failure to which his/her name will be expunged from the Graduation list.

Further to our earlier Notice regarding closure of the University, Senate at its 533rd continuation meeting held on 26th November 2021 resolved that students from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery be recalled to campus to continue with their studies.

Following the strike by University teaching staff which has disrupted learning in the Institution, Senate at its 533rd meeting held on Thursday 25th November 2021 resolved to close the University with immediate effect until further notice.
