  • The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, on 9 March 2022, addressed student representatives at Main Campus in Njoro to update them on the current status of the University. He said that the University Senate had considered their request to extend the semester by one week.

  • Egerton University will be the first institution of higher learning in the country to administer bar examinations outside Nairobi beginning 31 March 2022. This is according to the Council of Legal Education Chief Executive Officer Dr Wambua Kituku.

  • Whenever he is not in class or completing an academic assignment at Kenya’s Egerton University, Gabriel Kwendo is likely to be at Comrades Dairy, helping to make and package yoghurt or sell milk to customers.

  • International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a time to reflect on progress made and to call for change. The day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity through empowering women with a space to share their thoughts and ideas for a better world and to be part of global conversations and actions seeking to champion gender equality.

  • Egerton University staff member, Mrs Ruth Kamau, has been honoured by the International Renaissance Centre as among the top 100 women in the World in March 2022 – the World Women’s History Month.

  • Egerton University is hosting the 2022 AgriSCALE Student Challenge Event at Main Campus in Njoro. The Student Challenge Event that aims to promote community development in line with the research output dissemination mandate of the University. It addresses real-life problems by developing and delivering innovations that uplift society, contributing positively to the University’s vision.

  • Established in 1988, African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is a public not-for-profit organization devoted to the advancement of economic research and training that inform economic policies in Africa. While the pace and depth of economic growth has generally improved in Africa, poverty levels remain pervasive for many countries and there is a general lack of inclusivity in growth.

  • A team from the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) led by their Chief Executive Officer Dr Tonny Omwansa visited Egerton University on 5 and 6 April 2021 to review the institution’s commercialization and technology transfer efforts.

  • Today the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage led a delegation from Egerton University to the Office of the Nakuru County Governor, Hon. Lee Kinyanjui for a courtesy call. Among pertinent issues discussed were collaborations between Egerton University and Nakuru County Government in the rehabilitation of Mau Ecosystem and Njoro River, upgrading roads within Main Campus, the elevation of Lord Egerton Castle as a historical site and partnering with hospitals in Nakuru County in health care research, Innovation, Farmer Training Extension and Outreach.

  • On 13 April 2022, Egerton University (EU) officially opened the EU Minimart located at the Main Campus Entrance in Njoro.

  • Egerton University mourns the passing of Prof. John Momanyi Mironga  an Associate Professor of Biogeography at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Environment and Resources Development.  He was a distinguished scholar, educator and mentor. Prof. Mironga was born in 1967 in Kisii Central, Kisii County.

  • The office of the Dean of Students on 20 April conducted training of election officials at Main Campus in Njoro in preparation for the upcoming Egerton University Student Association (EUSA) elections set for 26 and 29 April 2022.

  • Egerton University is deeply saddened by the death of His Excellency Emilio Mwai Kibaki, the Third President of the Republic of Kenya. On behalf of the University Council, the Management Board, the University Senate, Staff, Students, Alumni and the community of Egerton University we offer our deepest condolence to his family and share the grief of the people of Kenya on the loss of an exemplary statesman.
